ABOUT THE "LEADING MASTERS OF REALISM" EXHIBITION AND THE INTERNATIONAL GUILD OF REALISM |
Winstanley-Roark Fine Arts is proud to have been asked to host “The International Guild of Realism: Leading Masters of Contemporary Realism” exhibition to run from July 24, 2007, through August 5, 2007, with the gala opening reception on Saturday, July 28, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Leading Realist artists from around the world will be unveiling their latest paintings at the gallery’s new location at 744 Main Street, Route 6A, in Dennis, Massachusetts. This will be one of the largest exhibitions of Realism ever held in New England. Awards will be given by Elizabeth Ives Hunter, Executive Director of the Cape Cod Museum of Art, renowned artist William R. Davis and Anita Winstanley Roark, Owner/Gallery Director of Winstanley-Roark Fine Arts. Awards will be presented the day of the show at 4 PM.
With over 200 entries, artwork was juried by the International Guild of Realism to just over fifty of today’s leading artists. To offer you the best in contemporary Realism this exhibition will feature a wide spectrum of styles within the Realism genre: photo-realism, trompe l’oeil, contemporary realism, classic realism, and the latest cutting-edge compositions from overseas. The level of originality and technical precision is truly amazing when the art is viewed side-by-side in a single exhibition such as this. The International Guild of Realism (www.RealismGuild.com) was founded in 2002 by leading professional realism artists from around the world to promote new aspects of Realism and to assemble museum exhibitions and art gallery shows. “The membership selection process is a careful procedure designed to favor those meeting the highest standards of technique, talent and creativity. The Guild works to offer support and exposure to the artists. But another of the Guild’s primary goals has been to help educate art collectors about the most current trends in Realism and to offer them a sampling of the entire art world in one exhibition. The response has been inspiring to all of us,” reports Lorena Kloosterboer, one of the founding artists in the Guild. “Nowadays, I think the artists are all trying to out-do each other to see who can be the star of the show. It’s been quite a bonanza for collectors to see.”
