Currently, Ms.
Vascak is head of the Art
Department at Plymouth State College, in Plymouth, New Hampshire and is a member of
the Cape Cod Printmakers and Monotype Guild of New England.
Ms. Vascak has received wide
acclaim as a
teacher, printmaker and draftswoman who particularly loves the art of drawing. She works
in the printing processes of etching, lithography, drypoint, and monoprint and
in the drawing media of charcoal, ink, pastel, and oil pastel. She is also a
papermaker and uses paper pulp as fine art media.
After a nasty fall
several years ago she had to recouping from a broken hip. She took this
time to started painting in egg tempera. Becoming immersed in the medium
she learned Russian and started studying
with egg tempera Icon masters from Russia and Italy. Currently she has
developed a unique and contemporary interpretation of the Icon tradition.
Ms. Vascak’s paintings, whether a landscape, floral, or
figurative works of art possess great luminosity and fluidity. Her nudes
are created from the eyes of a woman, sensitive to the subtle nuances of
sensuality and compassion. Noted for a style that reflects both great
intellectual endeavor and artistic insight, Ms. Vascak has earned the
respect of collectors and artists alike. |
