With the use of fluid and expressive
brushstrokes in a spontaneous, rhythmic application of color - sometimes
bordering on the abstract - Mr. Marks constantly strives to capture the
fleeting, elusive moods of the rural American landscape. Using deft
brushstrokes to shape his paintings, Mr. Marks applies his colors in a
celebratory manner. His paintings invite and intimate inquire into nature’s
ability to stir feelings within us as we ponder these moving landscape
portraits.
Possessed of great immediacy and force, Mr. Marks, Jr.'s
