Lois Griffel,
began her training studying traditional painting with master teachers
Ray Kinstler and Harvey Dinnerstein at the Art Students League in New
York. She later studied with Henry Hensche, the protégé of Charles
Hawthorn(e) founder of the Cape Cod School of Art, which was the first
school in the US dedicated solely to Plein Air painting.
A
classical impressionist, Ms. Griffel uses color to express light and
form. She works en plein-air to capture the subtleties and
luminous light effects of nature. She has incorporated earlier
influences of traditional painting with that of the Impressionists. |
